End Of The Poker Boom?

There is no doubt that the online poker boom is over but online poker looks like it is going to be around for many years to come. During the boom years there were dozens of poker networks but these have been amalgamated into 3 main networks and 4 or 5 smaller networks. A few years ago Paradise was one of the leading poker networks and had over 100,000 players at the tables during peak times. Paradise today though is a fraction of what it used to be and now is just a skin on Boss which is one of the smaller networks. Another of the leading networks, Party Poker expanded into Europe and other forms of gambling such as bingo and casino and Party continue to do well although they are no longer classed as one of the top three poker networks.

So lets take a look at the top three poker networks and see how they have developed. Most poker networks were hit hard by the Safe Port act which was an American law which forbids American Citizens depositing into online poker and casino sites. Many of the poker networks had no choice other than to ban Americans from playing at their tables and overnight lost up to 50% of their player base. Other networks decided to continue to let Americans play at their network and saw a rapid boom of new players to their site.

The biggest poker network without doubt is Poker Stars. It is not uncommon during peak hours to see over 250,000 players at the Poker Stars tables. Where other networks have branched into other forms of gambling Stars have solely stuck to developing their network as the number one poker site. You will not find blackjack or casino games at Poker Stars unlike most other networks. Stars offer the biggest choice of games and variants of poker at all levels and their poker interface is classed by many to be the best so far.

Full Tilt is the second biggest poker network and they followed the stance taken by Poker Stars to allow Americans to continue playing at their site. Full Tilt also stick solely to poker and don’t offer bingo or casino games.

The third biggest network is Ipoker. Many of the European sites since the Safe Port act moved to the Ipoker network. Americans are not allowed to play at Ipoker and this network does offer casino type games such as blackjack. It is predicted that Ipoker will continue to grow during the next few years as sites on the smaller networks switch to Ipoker. Unless Americans are allowed to play online again legally, Ipoker will always be lagging behind Stars and Full Tilt as the American market is by far the biggest.

Although many are fighting the Safe Port bill there seems to be nothing in the near future to suggest this law will be repealed. Many suggest it could be up to 5 years before we see Americans allowed to play at any online poker site.

The growth of Poker Stars though is simply amazing. As the number of poker networks is bound to shrink Poker Stars are bound to benefit from this and continue to grow and dominate the online market.

Bingo - The Years Ahead

Bingo has been thriving in Britain since the 1960s and every town has at least a dedicated bingo hall or a social meeting place where people play bingo at least once a week. During the last few years though there has been some major changes in the world of bingo. Firstly there is no doubt that the smoking ban which forbids smoking in enclosed areas and buildings has played a major part in the decreased admissions.

For the first time in Britain we are seeing declining attendances at bingo halls and major bingo hall chains closing some of their premises. We can’t though simply blame the smoking ban as there are other factors to consider. There is no doubt that the increased popularity of online bingo has also played a part of the demise of bingo halls. The fact is it is far cheaper to play bingo online in your own home rather than have all the expense of travelling to a bingo hall. As online bingo sites attract players from a wider range often the prizes online are far greater than those offered at local bingo halls. Lets also not forget that most of the western world is in the grip of a heavy recession and many are losing their jobs or on a reduced income compared to a few years ago.

Lets take a look at the future of bingo and perhaps forecast the next 10 years. At the moment there are hundreds of online bingo sites available to the population of the United Kingdom. In many ways we can compare the growth of online bingo to the growth of online poker. Poker was in the same position only a few years ago but many agree the online poker boom is now over. We are now reduced to just a few poker networks compared to dozens only a few years ago. I’m sure the same will happen with online bingo sites and as the bingo boom begins to fade the larger sites will purchases the smaller sites and as in the case of online poker in 5 years we will be left with perhaps 6 or more networks which will have swallowed up most of the smaller bingo sites.

The online bingo sites that survive will be much bigger than the existing sites this will in many ways benefit the players. Prize pools will be much bigger and the chat rooms will be far busier. The major bingo sites will further develop their sites to make them social networks perhaps even with dating and live social events. In the last year or so we have seen the first social bingo sites born and this concept is bound to be developed.

The future for bingo halls though does look bleak. The smoking ban has wiped out many of the UK’s pubs and clubs and I’m sure there will be no escape for bingo halls. I’m sure many of the smaller dedicated bingo halls in small towns have no future and we will see many more closures in the next few years.

Bingo though will survive and continue to thrive online just as poker has done on the 4 or 5 major networks!

Play Freerolls

Play Freerolls to Improve Your Game
If you want to develop good poker skills and you have a limited bankroll then freerolls can be an excellent way not only to improve your game but also to build a healthy bankroll. Remember one of the best players in the world, Annette Oberstad, freely admits that she started on the road to poker legend status by simply playing freerolls. Freerolls are offered by many poker sites to entice new players which they hope will become real money players. No buy in though is required to play freerolls so there is zero risk to your pocket.
Prizes for making the money in freerolls can vary from a few bucks to in some case seats for the WSOP or even cruises. Although perhaps the boom days of online poker are over you are still able to find freerolls running 24 hours a day if you are prepared to load several poker sites on to your computer system. I would advise anybody who wants to tackle online freerolls to join an online poker freeroll community. These communities list all freerolls and usually have special freerolls for their members.
One of the drawbacks playing these types of events is that some can attract thousands of runners. The benefits though is that the play is generally very poor and even a rock type ABC style can get you into the money. In larger fields though some prefer to gamble early on to build a decent stack rather than hang on for 4 or 5 hours for no reward. Another good strategy is when possible play 3 or 4 freerolls at the same time rather than just playing a single game. Yes this does take practise but in time it will become much easier.
You may be surprised to know that freerolls on some of the more obscure or newer sites attract fewer runners and in some cases less than 50 which give you a much better chance of making the money.
When you cash and start to build a bankroll then move up to real money tournaments and play either 1 table tournaments or multi table tournaments. Don’t though blow all your bankroll on one game as players with poor bankroll management skills always go broke. As a general rule divide your total bankroll by 40 and play games of that amount. For example if you win $100 then good bankroll management would be to play games with a total buy in of no more than $2.50.
Keep records of your results and post hand histories on poker strategy forums so others can comment on your play as this will help you improve your game. Also keep notes on players that do well and take the time to watch these players online as you will be surprises how this also will help develop your game.
It is not an easy task to win money in freerolls but you simply can’t beat experience and you will be gaining this for free. If you are willing to put the effort into your game then there is no reason why you can’t succeed!

End of The Line For UK Bingo Halls?

End of The Line For UK Bingo Halls?
It seems there is no stopping the decline of UK bingo halls as attendances continue to slump and the major operators await the outcome of the government and the Gambling Commission decision over the lucrative £500 slot machines allowed in their clubs. At the current time the limit on £500 slot machines is eight per club. However, both Gala and Mecca (the major UK bingo hall operators) had for months been operating with eight machines or more in most of their clubs through a multiple licences loophole. They are now using new legislative limits to further expand the number of machines in clubs. If the Gambling Commission closes this loophole, which many think is possible then it could threaten the future of many bingo halls throughout the UK and put hundreds if not thousands out of work. The industry has already shrunk sharply during the last few year with Gala has closing 19 clubs since late 2007, leaving it with 155 sites, and Mecca has 102 after 11 closures in the past two years.
UK Bingo operators were furious when the Gambling Act capped the number of big-prize slots at four per club, forcing them to remove thousands of existing machines in September 2007. They told ministers that the regulatory crackdown was heaping pressure on an industry that was already struggling for survival after being knocked by a smoking ban. All major UK bingo hall operators reported a drop in income after the smoking ban was introduced. Last month the number per club was increased to 8 although this is under review..
Mecca, recently confirmed it had 63 additional licences at its 102 existing bingo halls, and had installed more than 1,000 £500 jackpot machines. Gala would not disclose how many jackpot machines it has installed but last summer said it had 72 additional licences at 51 clubs. At one club in Morecambe, Lancashire, Gala has applied for five bingo licences, which would give it an entitlement to install 40 jackpot slots.
Both Gala and Mecca deny they are ignoring guidelines issued by the Gambling Commission on multiple licences. The guidance says: "There is no reason in principle why a single building could not be subject to more than one premises licence provided they are for different parts of the building and the different parts of the building can reasonably be regarded as being different premises. This approach has been taken to allow large multiple unit premises, such as a pleasure park, track or shopping mall, to obtain discrete premises licences, where appropriate.
If the Gambling Commission close this loophole it could threaten the future of many bingo halls and put hundreds out of work. Just a couple of months ago a 4 million pound bingo hall in Preston was closed and 27 jobs axed just two years after it opened. The purpose built £4.1m Buckingham Bingo in New Hall Lane shut for the final time at the end of March. One devastated member of staff, who asked not to be named, said: "They can't afford to keep it on. "We got told at a staff meeting that

Housie & Variants of Bingo

Housie – Variants of Bingo
In general there are two types of bingo. There is the American style bingo game and the British style also known as “Housie” in some other countries. Let’s look in a little more detail at the variants of bingo.
The type of bingo played in the UK is exactly the same variant as played in Australia and New Zealand although in these countries it is called “housie” This comprises of a bingo card with 15 numbers and there are usually 5 numbers in each of the 3 rows. These cards have 9 columns which mean 4 blank cells per row. The live game starts with the bingo caller announcing “eyes down” to indicate to all the players the game is starting. Bingo balls are then drawn one by one either using a mechanical bingo machine or even in some cases by drawing small tokens from a bag. Online the number are drawn using software known as a random number generator. In the UK game every number is assigned a nickname such as “two fat ladies” for the number 88 however this is a practise that is not that popular in Australia and New Zealand. This game always uses 90 balls and each game lasts no longer than 5 minutes. Players purchase multiple cards and it takes skill to play a dozen or more cards although online the drawn balls are marked off the cards automatically.
In America and Canada the cards are different as cards are 5 rows by 5 rows and there are no blank entries so that each card comprises of 25 numbers. The American game only has 75 numbers rather than 90 used in the UK game. The numbers are drawn out in the same way as the UK game. In America most bingo games are organised by churches or charities although there are many commercial bingo halls throughout America.
Online you can play all variants of the game and as already stated the skill in marking the cards is negated as each number is automatically marked off every card meaning you can play as many cards as you wish without ever missing a number. Each online bingo site also has chat rooms which have made online bingo a very social game compared to other gambling games such as blackjack and roulette. Many relationships have blossomed from the online bingo chat rooms and many marriages have been reported online from meetings from online bingo chat rooms.
As the online bingo games can attract players from all around the world in general the prize pools are much higher than those offered in bingo halls. Playing costs are also reduced as you don’t have the expense of travelling to the venue or even buying refreshments. The rise of online bingo is heavily blamed for the demise of bingo halls throughout the UK as hundreds if not thousands have closed during the last few years. The UK smoking ban which forbids smoking indoors in public areas has also played a major part in the demise of UK bingo halls.

Top 10 Online Bingo Tips

Top 10 Online Bingo Tips

Start with free money! Most of the major online bingo sites will offer you a free no deposit bonus. This normally is around £10 but can be in some cases up to £20. Take up these offers and don’t deposit on any online bingo site until you find a site you really like.

Only Play on Regulated Sites! Stick with the UK sites that are regulated and accredited. Most of the UK online bingo sites have been in busy for many years in other forms of gambling such as sports betting and poker.

Deposits & Withdrawal Methods. Open a free Neteller account for use with your online bingo sites. This makes the process of depositing or withdrawing much easier and faster.

Sign up to bingo sites through affiliate’s sites as the better affiliate sites will devote a page to each site with full details of deposit methods, the best bonuses available and even free no deposit required money offers.

Bingo games that take place during work days are less popular and so have reduced prize pools. The bigger games run Friday to Sunday night and can have jackpots of tens of thousands pounds. Games that run during work days will have vastly reduced prize pools as most bingo players are at work.

Only deposit what you can afford to lose. Remember bingo is gambling and there is no guarantee that you will see a return on the amount you deposit. The price of bingo games varies from a penny up to in most cases one pound. Play games that suit your pocket or you will soon go broke.

All major online bingo sites have online chat which make bingo such a great social experience. Join in with the chat as the chat supervisor will often run either special promotions or games which could make you a winner.

Big Monthly Jackpots. Most bingo sites have a super jackpot game which runs once per month. These games tend to have massive jackpots which can even run into hundreds of thousands although the entry fee may be only one pound. All bingo sites have a schedule section so make a note of when these games take place.

If you are used to playing bingo at bingo halls then the chances are that the bingo hall you play at will have an online site which all your friends will be visiting. If this is the case then try this site first as you will feel more at home.

Have fun! Remember bingo is a game of chance and unless you are one of the very lucky ones you are not likely to win big. Online bingo though is a great way to have fun and make new friends on the online bingo chat lines. If your budget restricts you to only depositing a few pounds then simply play the penny games or the penny slots. Take time to learn the online bingo chat talk and become part of the community.

Play Real Money Bingo For Free

Play Real Money Bingo For Free
History tell us that in times of recession gambling actual increases and not decreases as many would think. Also as many face harder times financially, the average punter is far more likely to gamble online than in the real world. If you think about the average bingo player who normally plays once per week at their local bingo hall they can simply reduce their costs for expenses such as travel and perhaps food and beverages by playing online.
Those who run online bingo sites are no mugs and they know that in these trouble financial times they have a greater than ever potential client base. The free money offers and other enticements have never been better. The simple truth is that there are hundreds of free pounds waiting ie no deposit bingo for you at online bingo sites that you can claim quickly and without any risk to your own pocket.
There are many times of bonuses so let’s quickly cover these so you know exactly what you are looking for. A no deposit bonus requires as is says no deposit from the player. If for example a bingo site offers you a £20 no deposit bonus, then you simply sign up to the site and £20 is credited to your account. Some sites do request that you enter either credit or debit card details for age verification although no deduction is made from your card. Most sites though do not ask for card details. Some sites offer match bonuses also known as deposit bonuses. These though require you to deposit a specified amount which is matched by the actual site. For example deposit £10 and get £10 free. So from the above you should now understand that for free bingo money we should be looking for no deposit bonuses.
To make our quest to find free bingo money even easier there are hundreds if not thousands of bingo affiliate sites on the internet. These range from poor sites that mostly contain dozens of banners with very little detail about the actual offers, to better sites that just list a dozen or so UK accredited and regulated site. The better affiliate sites will even have a page to each bingo site with full details of the sites new sign up offers. The quality affiliate sites will never list every bingo site as they cherry pick the best of the best to keep their readers happy.
I will write another article about the best strategy for using free bingo money but I will give you a little advice now. Firstly all online bingo sites also have a slots (fruit machines) section and many of these have big payouts. Split your free money 50/50 so that 50% you use for bingo and 50% you use for slots. Remember also that the bigger online bingo games take place during Friday to Sunday nights and these offer much better payouts than games than run at other times. It would be very foolish to waste your free bingo money by playing during week days when the top prize is only around £50 compared to hundreds or even thousands during the prime times.

Play Deal Or No Deal – DOND

Play Deal Or No Deal – DOND

The latest craze that seems to be sweeping the internet is Deal Or No Deal also known as DOND. The game started with a UK TV show broadcast by Channel 4 from October 31st 2005 and is still going strong today. The show has captured the imagination of the v public and has enjoyed increasing popularity ever since. Deal Or No Deal even has its own fan club which the shows presenter Noel Edmonds has fondly named the 'Red Box Club'.
Each show sees one contestant take on the banker in a battle of nerves, courage, risk and reward. The game is played with 22 identical sealed boxes which contain from 1p to £250,000, the contestant firstly picks a box and then chooses one by one which of the other boxes to eliminate from the game. The aim of the game is not to discard the 'Power Five' boxes which contain £35,000, £50,000, £75,000, £100,000, £250,000. No one knows what is in the boxes and each game varies wildly. As the game progresses the banker offers the contestant a cash amount to end the game. The amount offered varies depending the value of the remaining boxes left in the game. The game show has now be sold around the world, so no matter where you live the game will be coming to your TV screen very soon.
Perhaps a surprise too many is that DOND has started to become popular online. You can now play deal or no deal for free or even for real cash. The online game in many ways is similar to the TV game apart from the prize money which depends on your stake. The same principle applies as so does the general game play. You simply select a box and then one by one you pick boxes to eliminate from the game.
As with the game show there are many different strategies that players use to play deal or no deal. Some prefer to lock in their profit and accept the bankers offer as soon as they are in profit. Other prefer the thrill of the big gamble and go for the big win. To date the biggest amount won online playing DOND is £965,728 which was won by one lucky lady called Emira B.
For anybody though starting out with DOND I would suggest that you start with the free game to gain a good understanding of how the game works plus develop a decent strategy. As with all games practise makes perfect! Many of the leading UK online gaming sites now offer you to play deal or no deal for real money for as little as one UK pound.
Your decision to take the bankers offers should always depend on the amount of cash remaining in the unopened boxes. As I have already said there is no optimum strategy but I can tell you that many have been successful banking when they have been offered a profit of 30% or more when only 3 or less of the top 5 prices remain.

Bingo around the World

Bingo around the World

There is no doubt that the UK is the unofficial capital of bingo. The rise of the UK online bingo game can only be described as amazing. Bingo has become the leading form of online gambling in the UK played by all age ranges and vastly helped by the demise of live bingo and heavy advertising on all UK media. I will say though that bingo is not restricted to the UK only. America has an extremely strong live bingo presence although the online bingo scene has been stifled by the online gambling laws which class many of the existing online bingo sites as unlawful. Throughout the states though you will find thousands of bingo halls and if the online gambling laws are changed in the future there is sure to be a boom online.

Spain also has seen a massive surge in online bingo. Spain is only second to the UK for the growth of the online game. During 2008 there has been a major increase of Spanish online bingo sites fighting for the large volume of Spanish players. This has not gone unnoticed by the established UK online bingo giants and already Mecca have launched their own white label bingo site Bingo International which is strictly targeted at the Spanish market.

Italy has also seen rapid growth in the online bingo scene and is ranked third behind the UK and Spain. In many ways Italy is way behind but analyst predict strong growth in Italy during the next couple of year. Perhaps one of the surprising countries where bingo is popular is Japan. Japan has always had a thriving live bingo scene with thousands of bingo parlours throughout the country. As with the UK the game has transferred rapidly online creating a booming industry. The live game in Japan mirrors the live bingo scene in the UK where it is a very social event.

Australia and New Zealand also have a strong live bingo community and once again there seems to be growth in the online bingo scene. Australia has many bingo halls through the country as does New Zealand.

Many wonder why the UK has taken the lead in the online bingo world. My theory is this is simply due to a few factors. The main factor is that online gambling in the UK is fully legalised and regulated unlike online bingo in many other countries. Secondly the live bingo scene in the UK was badly hit by the smoking ban. In the UK you are no longer allowed to smoke in enclosed public areas and since the introduction of the smoking ban many players simply stopped playing live. Thirdly the credit crunch in the UK as hit everybody hard. The simple fact is that it is much cheaper to play bingo online than live and as you are playing against more players online the prize pools are vastly increased online. The final factor is the heavy promotion of online Ladbrokes Bingo by the UK media. Prime time TV is flooded with bingo commercial which are endorsed by well known celebs such as Katie Price and many others.

Free Bingo Money – Bingo Bonuses Explained

Free Bingo Money – Bingo Bonuses Explained
Due to the rapid growth of online bet365 bingo, bingo sites are laterally fighting against themselves for your custom. The fighting in real terms comes in the form of free money which the sites use to tempt you to play on their site. This though comes in many forms and in some case is not what it seems. Let’s break down these offers so you have a better understanding of how these offers work.
The best type of offer that an online bingo site may offer you is a straight no deposit bonus. These vary in the actual amount from 1 to 20 pounds and do not require you to make any deposit at all. Some of the sites though that do offer you these types of offers will though request that you register a credit card. This is of course for age verification as bingo is a form of gambling and UK law states that the minimum age for partaking in any form of gambling is 18. Most though do not request that you register a credit or debit card.
The next form of bonus at first seems to offer a no deposit bonus but on further inspection this is not the case. The site may well advertise £20 free but it order to claim the free money you will have to make a small deposit of around 5 to 10 pounds. Other variation of this type of bonus is a release type bonus. The site will offer you 20 pounds free if you deposit let’s say 5 pounds but the actual 20 pounds will only be released to your account after you have played a predetermined amount of games. Some of these offer will require you to make another deposit for the bonus is released into your account.
Another type of bonus is a deposit bonus or a matched bonus. In simple terms a online bingo site will match your first deposit amount up to a certain amount. They may state that they will offer you a 100% bonus up to £100. This means any amount you deposit up to £100 the site will add to your account the same amount. So deposit £100 and they will add to your account another £100. Some sites will make the first deposit bonus very tempting with a 200% bonus. So deposit £100 and have an extra £200 added to your account. Of course there are terms and conditions attached to this bonus otherwise you could simply deposit £100 and withdraw £200. Again the site will specify that you can’t withdraw any amount until you have played a predetermined amount of games.
You will find hundreds of affiliate sites on the internet which list all the different type of bonuses available for the major online sites. The best of these sites will also give details of the different bonuses available for each site and in many cases you will get a better deal from the affiliate sites than from the actual online bet365 bingo site.
For your own peace of mind though make sure before you sign up to any online bingo site read the sites terms and conditions.

Bingo Bonuses - How To Win Thousands!

Bingo Bonuses - How To Win Thousands!

Browse the internet and you will find hundreds of online bingo sites tempting you with free money to play on their sites. Many of these will offer you a no deposit bonus which in effect is free money as no deposit from you is required although some require you to input your credit or debit card details which they use to verify your age.
I will tell you now that most who take up these free money offers from bingo sites don’t think about the best way to utilise their bingo bonus for maximum profit and at best only give themselves a chance of wining a few pounds or dollars at most.

OK so you have your free £5 to £20 how should you use it? Lets first look at how the average punter will play his free money. The average bingo player will simply find the next starting bingo game and buy bingo cards to play the game. The is a big mistake! Most of the time and especially at off peak hours the prize for winning a online bingo game is under £100. This of course means the bingo player has no chance of winning a big jackpot with his free cash and he / she is doing exactly what the bingo site expects them to do. In effect these bingo bonuses had been wasted as none of these players gave themselves a chance of winning a big amount which cold have been several thousand pounds simply because the games they played only offered prizes of thirty to a hundred pounds!

The first thing you should do before playing your bingo bonuses is read through the schedule of games that every bingo site has on their site. Look for the bingo jackpot games which offer prizes of tens of thousands of pounds. The big jackpot games normally run Thursday to Sundays at peak times and usually they have a super jackpot game at least once a month. These are the games you should be targeting with your free bingo bonuses!

So what over ways can you use your free bingo bonuses to win big? Well many do not realise that online bingo sites do not simply just offer bingo games. Many also offer casino type games which in many cases have better odds than the actual bingo games although the prizes are not so big. Look for the bingo games or bingo slots section of the bingo site and find the games or slots that have the biggest payouts. A good strategy would be to use 50% of your bonus for big bingo jackpot games and the other 50% for playing bingo slots. If you get lucky and win playing slots use your extra cash to play more big jackpot games. Of course there is no guarantee you will win big but you will be at least giving yourself a chance to do so.

Double or Nothing SNG Strategy

Double or Nothing SNG Strategy

Double or nothing sngs are a new type of single table tournament introduced only a few months ago at Poker Stars. In simple terms these are 10 seater games and 5 players get paid twice their initial buy in minus the rake. As 5 players get paid these games have much less variance than other types of sngs and can return a ROI (rate of income) of around 10% to 20%. Many play up to 20 of these games at the same time although 4 to 10 games at the same time is the norm. There are two types of these games, the normal structure and a turbo structure which have reduced rake. The turbos are a better option simply due to the reduced rake.

During the early couple of levels simply play ABC poker and only play big pairs from early position and call with small pairs and connecting cards in multi pots from late position. The name of the game is survival so remember you only need to finish 5th to cash so it would be foolish to take chances or gamble during the early levels.

As the Antes kick in then you have to maintain your stack so use position to your advantage. During the mid levels you should not be calling raises. Use late position to steal plenty of pots and play your good hands strongly. During the mid stages there are normally 7 or 8 players left so you must start to consider the other players stack sizes from this point until the bubble bursts.

During the latter stages do not let your stack be blinded away. If you are one of the shorter stacks then you must steal from late position with a much wider range of hands. If you are one of the bigger stacks then you can sit back and let the other players fight amongst themselves. It would be foolish to gamble with hands such as AK against another big stack when there are 2 or 3 players with stacks smaller than your and there will be times when it is correct to even fold hands such as AA, KK QQ etc simply because you need not get involved. If you can understand why AA should in some cases be folded then I would guess that playing these double or nothing sngs could be very profitable for you.

These games have become very popular on Stars and I’m sure you will find that during 2009 these will appear on many other sites. Develop good skills playing these now and reap the rewards on other sites in the near future with perhaps a deposit bonus!

These are also a great way of clearing the initial bonus offered by Stars. If you are multi tabling these sngs then even at low levels you will quickly clear the initial or even reload bonus. If you don’t have a Poker Stars account then make sure you sign up to Poker Stars through a site that offers the free $50 bonus as this will add to your ROI thus adding to your profit.

poker bank roll

Poker Bankroll Management

When new players start out on their poker careers, many are not sure whether to begin with cash games or single table tournaments (STTs). It is up to you to decide which is better for you! If you decide that STTs are for you It is best to start at full table games (8-10 players), avoid short handed games (6 players or less) and seek out games that have a slow structure thus avoiding turbos. If you decide cash play is for you then again start with full tables (8 - 10 players) and start with a rock type ABC style of poker until you start to develop your poker skills.

Bankroll is the amount of money you are prepared to commit to playing poker. The maximum you should take to the table at any one time should be no more than 5% although in reality 2.5% is much better. Having a large bankroll relative to the size of the game you are playing helps protect you from the inevitable downswings that even very good players will experience. A bankroll of at least 40 the x buy-in is generally regarded as an acceptable amount for a winning STT or even a cash player (if you are a losing player, no bankroll will ever be big enough). Downswings of 20-30x buy-in are not uncommon, and this is why you should develop good bankroll management skills because if you do not you will go broke no matter how good or skilful you are. Playing out of your comfort zone and risking too much of your bankroll at one time will hinder you as you will not win anything if you are scared because you are down to your last few buy-ins. If you hit a bad patch and your bankroll decreases then lower your stakes and slowly build your bankroll back up again. Only move up the levels when your bankroll has increased.

It may be that you are going to start off your poker career with less bankroll than strictly necessary. Most players have probably done this (and many continue to play at levels for which they are not thoroughly bankrolled), but you must accept that you run the risk of going broke and having to reload to continue.

Another important aspect is that you should start your poker career on a soft site. The big sites such as Stars and Full Tilt attract many sharks (good players) that play many tables at low stakes (sometime up to 20 at the same time) exploiting players with lesser skills or those new to the game. Find a site such as PKR that offers both a decent sign up bonus and rake back as this will add to your profit and cushion any losses.

Play Slots

Play Slots Online For Free

If you are looking for a quality and trustworthy casino I will tell you that Virgin Casino is in my opinion the best! They even offer all new signs up £100 FREE plus have daily deposit bonuses, free Vpoints and even cash back days!

Maybe you are bored and have nothing to do or maybe you want to try and win a few pounds or dollars without using your own money? If so this article is for you! If you browse the internet there are many sites that will offer you free money to play on their sites and this money is 100% free and not even a penny deposit is required from you. That’s right! This money is 100% free.

If you visit new bingo affiliate sites such a Online Bingo Sleuth you will find several sites listed that you can quickly sign up to and have up to fifteen pound credited to your account in a matter of minutes. Sign up to several sites and you will have a tidy sum although this initial credit can’t be instantly withdraw although your winnings can.

Many do not realise that bingo or lotto (as it is called in many countries) sites also have slot games and these should be your target. Look for the slots that have the biggest jackpots then play them with your free money. If you win then don’t get greedy and cash out. A word of warning though as many of these sites require you to make a small deposit before you can cash out, usually around twenty pounds. It is always a good idea to read the terms and conditions of each site before you start to play so that you know the amount you will have to deposit if you win. There is very little point in making a deposit of £20 pounds to cash out five pounds. Also many sites set a minimum cash out amount which is usually £25 to £30 so you must ensure your winning are greater.

Remember though that you are playing with free money so in effect you have nothing to lose apart from the time it takes to sign up to the sites and play. Many sites offer you free money but what I like about online Bingo Sleuth is that it shows screenshots of their players that have won using the free cash. Don’t though take my word for it take a look yourself at the screenshots in the free bingo winners section and you will see the bright spark who used his free cash to play slots!

How to build a bankroll

How To build A Poker Bankroll With Free Money

At one time many poker sites would tempt you with free money to join there site although most of these offers seem now to have disappeared over the last year or so. Whist on a midnight Googling session the other night I found a very interesting forum thread where a player had turned a $10 free bonus into over $600 in a month or so. Now reading through his thread it became clear to me that this is something many could do if they think about what they are doing.

The main message I seemed to pick up from the thread is how important bankroll management was to this player. Starting with only $10 he was not foolish and took the whole amount to the table, he simply sat down at the lowest level he could find 2c/4c with just a dollar which in effect gave him 10 buy ins. As his bankroll increase he could then afford to take more to the tables but never seemed to risk more than 10% of his bankroll at any one time. As his bankroll increased he reduced his liability more by only taking 5% of his bankroll to the table.

If you read through his thread you will see that slowly but surely his bankroll grew although he did take a few knocks on the way but as he used good bankroll management he was able to bounce back. To build his balance he played cash, sngs, mtts and even heads up games at low buy ins and had a great run playing $5 heads up games winning 11 out of 12. As his bankroll increased he seemed to focus more and more on playing heads up games with the odd shot at mtts. This again backs ups my theory that playing heads up games can be a very profitable route to making money from poker and I will be posting many heads up strategy articles in the next few weeks.

If you are an aspiring poker player or perhaps need to brush up on your bankroll management skills the thread is well worth a read. The thread is posted on the blog of Poker Freeroll World in the top feature section which I guess is a little strange as he did not cash in any freerolls, but as the $10 was free I take their point. Perhaps this will inspired you to take the free $10 and see it you can spin it up to over $500?

The link for the thread mentioned in this article is posted in the link below.

bingo clubs smoking

Smoking rates among bingo players is close to double the national average and this is the reason that companies such Gala, Mecca and Rank are saying that the numbers playing bingo are falling since the smoking ban in England. Clubs have traditionally made most of their money during breaks in the main bingo session. This is when people play table top or so called cash bingo - a faster version of the main game. Although the stakes are low, table top bingo generates significant profits - in some cases, as much as 45% of all the money taken by the club. But gambling rules dictate that this faster and potentially more expensive version of the game can only be played during the interval, which is when smokers are heading outside for a cigarette.

Mike Lowe, the general manager of Premier Bingo in Kirkcaldy states that during the interval, more than 40% of his customers leave the hall to have a cigarette outside thus resulting in a near 40% reduction of profits.

Gala Coral is the latest bingo operator has already closed a handful of its clubs after the smoking ban and new gaming laws ravaged the number of punters, forcing the industry into a major rethink of strategy. The company, which owns 169 clubs, will close the doors for good at five of its worst-performing sites this weekend. West Granton in Edinburgh, Winton in Bournemouth and Bedminster in Bristol will be among the clubs closed.Private equity-owned Gala is likely to want to sell the properties, though onerous lease arrangements may make it difficult to complete such deals.

Former bingo caller Jim Bowen from the TV Show Bulls Eye understands how much the game means to millions.

"A lot of people who play bingo are widows, people whose husbands have died or are ill, and they're carers, and they manage to get two hours away from the strain and stress and demands of domestic life."

There are thousands of people who rely on their local bingo clubs to add a bit of spice to their lives.

Big rival Mecca has adapting to a smoke free environment. It has opened the first fully electronic bingo club on the outskirts of Edinburgh where it's a goodbye to the old fashioned "eyes down" culture. Mecca hopes it will attract a new generation of younger customers.

All players have to do is tap an electronic screen when the number's are called out.And if that is too much bother the screen automatically updates itself with the correct numbers. .

Gala's chief Mr Goulden though predicts trouble in the years ahead ahead for the industry.

"We could have 200 bingo clubs closing. This could mean an enormous number of job losses and loss of amenity to local communities."

Many though also blame the rise of online bingo sites which enable players to play in the comfort of their own homes. Many sites such as Online Bingo Sleuth even offer players free cash to play with which means the cost of playing bingo is much cheaper than playing at a club.

Looking around at the online bingo scene I would select a Bingo Free No Deposit required sign up. There are though many sites that will offer you a Bingo Deposit Bonus.

If I had to pick the top 2 UK bingo sites I would chose Virgin Bingo and Bet365 Bingo as these give a great bonus and have cashback schemes.

play poker for free

Many still believe that a poker free roll is played by thousands and the winner only gets a few bucks for their troubles. Well whilst this may be true for a small number of free rolls this is by no means a fair reflection of the poker free roll scene. There is no doubt that compared to a couple of years ago online poker is not so popular as it was. This is due to many factors the main being the ban on US citizens playing online although many still do play on the larger sites such as Stars. Nowadays the smaller networks use free rolls as a way to attract new players to their sites and such free rolls can attract in some cases less then 100 runners. So what is in real terms a true free roll? A free roll is a poker tournament which many call a mtt (multi table tournament) where you can enter 100% free and normally the top 10 finishes win money or items such as Ipods or even holidays in some cases. The only requirements to play the free roll is that you sign up to the site hosting the event and no deposit is required.

Finding quality free rolls with decent prizes and low numbers of runners though can be sometimes very difficult. Many of the lists which appear on the internet are out of date and you find yourself signing up to a site when the monthly free roll has been discontinued many months ago. Other sites list free rolls which seem to be free until you read the small print and find out that you either need to play a certain amount of raked hands or even make a small deposit. These to me are not free rolls! Searching the internet I have found a great online site that not only list most available freerolls but also set up private freerolls for their members. Best of all you can join the site for free! Members also post screenshots of their winning which total over £l1,000 in cash plus holidays and items such as Ipod Touch. The name of this site is Poker Freeroll World and I class it as the best freeroll site on the internet!

If you Google for Poker Freeroll World and look through the members winning screenshots you will be surprised to see that some of the free rolls have less then 70 runners with the top 10 players being paid. It is a no brainer to calculate that you are getting generous odds of 6/1 to cash. Freerolls are not just a great way to generate a second income but a great way to develop a winning poker game for free as proven by one of the best poker players in the world Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad. Annette has improve from playing poker free rolls to winning millions online and live including the European WSOP for over £1,000,000.

If you are new to the game of poker there are many online communities that are packed with winning tips to help you become a winning player. One of the best UK online poker communities is the Eat My Stack Poker Forum which caters for players of all abilities and again is free to join. So if you have an hour or two spare each week why not give free rolls a try because if you are successful you could win a few bucks, payment for your next holiday or even a generous second income!
